Removed malware, patched vulnerabilities, submitted for review. Here is the full story.
StyleByEmily, a fashion and lifestyle blog with 50,000+ monthly visitors, was hacked through an outdated plugin vulnerability. Google had flagged the site with a "This site may harm your computer" warning, causing traffic to drop to near zero. The site was redirecting visitors to spam pages, and the owner had received a Google Search Console notification about detected malware. Her hosting provider had suspended the account.
We performed a complete malware scan and found 47 infected files across the WordPress installation. The attack vector was a known vulnerability in an outdated contact form plugin. We removed all malware files, replaced core WordPress files with clean versions, updated all plugins and themes, changed all passwords and security keys, implemented a web application firewall, installed security monitoring, hardened file permissions, and submitted a reconsideration request to Google.
The site was fully cleaned and secured in 95 minutes. Google removed the security warning within 48 hours of our reconsideration request. Traffic returned to normal within a week. We set up ongoing security monitoring and automatic plugin updates to prevent future compromises. Six months later, the site has had zero security incidents.
"My site was hacked and I was panicking. They cleaned it up and secured it in under 2 hours. Amazing!"
